Student Terms of Use

Last updated: September 4, 2026

These Student Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CDL Compliant ("we," "us") about your use of the CDL Compliant platform (the "Service") — the portal where you complete training your school assigns. Your training itself — enrollment, tuition, schedules, instruction, and certificates — is a relationship between you and your school, not us; we provide the software. Schools are governed by our separate Terms of Service.

1. Your Account

Your school creates your account and gives you a temporary password — change it after your first login (Settings). Keep your login private: your account records real training progress that may be reported to federal regulators, so only you may use it. You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information.

2. Platform Fee

Unless your school tells you otherwise, access to the platform requires a one-time fee (currently $35), paid securely through Stripe when you first sign in. It is not a subscription and is charged once. The fee is non-refundable once your access is activated, except that if we terminate your access without cause within 90 days of your payment, we will refund it. This fee is separate from any tuition you owe your school.

3. Training Content

Courses, lessons, practice tests, exam questions, answers, and videos on the platform are licensed to you for your own training, inside the platform only. You may not copy, screenshot for sharing, download, publish, sell, or distribute them, or use them to build any other course or question bank. This license ends when your access ends.

4. Honest Training

Complete your own training. Don't let anyone else take lessons or exams as you, don't use unauthorized help on exams, and don't misstate your hours or progress. ELDT records may be submitted to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry — falsifying federal training records can have serious consequences beyond this platform, including losing your eligibility for a CDL. We and your school may remove access for dishonest activity.

5. Your Records and Documents

Your school's staff can see your training records, documents, and progress, and controls your program. Completions may be reported to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry by or on behalf of your school. How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Documents. Which documents you're asked to upload (permit, medical card, and so on) is decided by your school, not by CDL Compliant. Upload only authentic, accurate documents that belong to you — submitting falsified documents can end your training and have legal consequences. Your school reviews and verifies what you upload; we store it securely but do not review or approve it. Questions about why a document is required go to your school.

6. No Guarantees

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." We do not guarantee that you will pass any exam or obtain any permit or license, and we are not responsible for decisions made by your school or any government agency. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

7. Ending Access

You may stop using the Service at any time. We or your school may suspend or end your access at any time, with or without cause; the Section 2 refund applies if we end it without cause within 90 days of your payment. Your training records remain with your school.

8. Disputes

Any dispute between you and CDL Compliant will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, held in Santa Clara County, California (or remotely, or in your county of residence where the rules require). You and CDL Compliant each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. Either of us may instead use small claims court, and claims about misuse of our content may be brought in court. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing support@cdlcompliant.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. California law governs, and Santa Clara County, California is the venue for anything not arbitrated. Disputes with your school (tuition, instruction, refunds of tuition) are between you and your school.

9. Changes and Contact

If we materially change these Terms we'll ask you to accept the new version in the app. Questions: support@cdlcompliant.com.
